Merger Announcement: Japan Dating Industry

With and Omiai Dating apps merged and are now 1 company called Enito Group

Interesting news coming out of the Japanese online dating industry in the last months. The dating app called With (ウィズ) announced that it was acquiring and merging with fellow Japanese dating app Omiai. Upon merging the group is now called the Enito Group.

This comes at an interesting time as the Japanese dating industry has slowed in recent years. Competitors portfolios like the Match Group, which owns Tinder and Hinge, have been pushing Pairs (ペアーズ) advertisements in large Japanese cities like Tokyo.

The Enito Group is led by Kasumi Nagata, a former Tinder Japan executive.

The online dating industry in Japan is expected to reach 165.7 billion yen ($1.2B) in 2026. Enito Group could be preparing for the first IPO in the dating industry from Japan. 1
